Ronald Carillo
Ronald is a High School student who lives in a village near LaCeiba, Honduras. Ronald escaped the rising flood waters of Hurricane Mitch, by climbing a hill behind his house in 150mph winds. When he returned to his home, the mud was over 6 feet high covering the house. He lost everything in the storm.

Victor Ponce
Victor is a Honduran Army Officer who risked his life as he rescued 45 people trapped in a village church. During the rescue, Hurricane force winds and rising flood waters pounded the church. Most of the people were successfully rescued, but some had to be left behind.


Maria Rodrigues
Maria is a High School student who lives in the capital city of Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Maria watched helplessly as her neighborhood was destroyed by flood waters. She witnessed houses, people and animals being swept away by the raging waters.


Carlos Suazo
Carlos is a successful business owner who lives with his family on the Choluteca River. Carlos escaped from his home late at night as the water rose over the banks of the river. Flood waters over 8 feet high and Hurricane force winds destroyed his home.

Jesus Hernandez
Jesus is a law student who lives in LaCeiba, Honduras. Jesus who survived rising flood waters by escaping to the roof of his two story home. There he spent the night with his dogs, as the water reached the 2nd floor destroying his home and every other home in the area






Aracelly Canales
Aracelly works as a secretary, and she lives in Nuevo Laorgue near the Choluteca River. She looked on in horror as her neighbor's house was swept into the raging river with the entire family still inside. The family escaped to the roof but were trapped by the raging river as the children waved their T-shirts in the air pleading for help. All seven people drowned in the Choluteca River.


Danilo Aguilar
Danilo is a mechanic who risked his life to save his friend from rising flood waters surrounding his home. The water reached a height of 12 feet, trapping his friend on the roof of the house. Danilo successfully reached the house and climbed to the roof to rescue his friend who had been clinging there for hours.


Luis Zelaya
Luis is a carpenter who lives in LaCeiba, Honduras. He spent seven years and his entire life savings building his house with his own hands. In one night Hurricane Mitch destroyed his home and the entire neighborhood with winds of over 150mph and flood waters over 10 feet high. He plans to rebuild his home as soon as possible.


Gladys Guzman
Gladys is a homemaker whose home was completely flooded after the storm. Everything was lost except for a statue of the Virgin Mary which remained standing on a shelf attached to the wall. She calls it a miracle and a message from God.


U.S. Navy Troops
The U.S. Navy Troops lead the way in the rebuilding efforts of a country torn apart from the devastation of Hurricane Mitch. Side by side the Navy troops worked with local villagers rebuilding roads and homes.


Carlos Aguilar
Carlos is a college student who looks forward to the rebuilding of Honduras. He insists that young people should lead the way in building back their country which had been devastated by Hurricane Mitch.


John Heide & Arthur Penner
John is a Pastor, and Arthur is an assistant Pastor representing a church group from Belize. They came to Honduras to feed the poor and homeless people who had no food to eat.


Juan Carlos Villars
Juan Carlos is a 22 year old Engineering student. He, along with his friends, are working on cleaning things up. He has a positive attitude and is personally looking forward to rebuilding the country.


Norman Garcia
Norman is a high ranking official with the Honduran Government, and former Minister of Tourism. His message to his fellow countrymen is that, "We are down, but we are not out. We need to work and have faith, and we will bounce back, believe me."
